Following back-to-back Eredivisie losses, RKC will be expected to return to winning ways when they take on relegation-threatened Volendam at the Mandemakers Stadion in Waalwijk.

Sitting seven points outside of the European play-off positions but ten points clear of the drop zone, RKC are very much the definition of a mid-table side, and while they might be beginning to plan their summer holidays, should be fancied to get back to winning form against a Volendam side that continues to struggle on their Eredivisie travels.

Volendam arrives in Waalwijk just two points above the drop zone with only a superb home record keeping them outside of the relegation places. Indeed, while the visitors have won six and lost just one of their last eight home matches on the road, Volendam have suffered five defeats in their last seven while they have managed just one win from 15 on their travels this season.

Returning to the top flight following a 13-year absence, Volendam have picked up a 1-point per game average with 30 points collected from 30 games. However, just eight of those points came on their travels.

Unfortunately or Volendam, RKC also boasts a strong home record, with the hosts scoring five wins in their last seven while they have lost just three of their last 13 with Ajax, PSV and NEC the only teams to leave Waalwijk with all three points during that period.

Volendam did claim all three points when these sides met earlier in this campaign, but as we have already indicated, these are two sides who do most of their best work in front of their own support. 

While the away side may have the higher motivation coming into this fixture, with RKC unlikely to make a late charge for European qualification, the relative home and away form of these sides suggests the hosts should be able to claim another victory at the Mandemakers Stadion.
