Volendam are, at the moment, weaker than the last season. The team left a lot of very usable players from the previous season, like Filip Stankovic, Francesco Antonucci, Gaetano Oristanio, Hank Veerman, and Walid Ould-Chikh.
On the other hand, the only new player in the squad is Mio Backhaus, who came on loan from Werder Bremen. Backhaus is a 19-year-old goalkeeper who previously played only in Werder II in Regionalliga and for the Werder youth team.
We should expect Volendam to be more active in the transfers in the rest of August, as they need reinforcement in some areas.
