Gil Vicente are coming off a pretty poor last season when they finished 13th, much closer to the relegation zone than to European spots. The current season did not start particularly better, considering they are 10th with only six points in six rounds. However, we have to mention that they had a very challenging schedule and were not as bad as the results currently represent. 

Casa Pia made a historic success by securing promotion in the 2021/22 season, and last season had another very successful season, at least by their standards. They were incredible in the first half of the season, and it even looked like they could get involved in the battle for Europe. However, the second finish of the season was much weaker, and because of it, they finished 10th. This year, Casa Pia once again had a good start and, after six rounds, sit in 8th place with only one loss so far.   

Gil Vicente vs Casa Pia pick: Both teams to score

Gil Vicente have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in Liga Portugal, considering we have seen around 4.2 goals per game in their matches. At home, they have been exceptional offensively and have scored 12 goals in three games, including two in 3:2 loss vs Benfica. So, we definitely expect a goal from them at Estádio Cidade de Barcelos. On the other hand, defensively, they had problems and only had one clean sheet - in the first league game of the season. 

Casa Pia are not playing offensive football like Gil Vicente, but they are still more than capable of scoring. In six rounds, Casa Pia scored a goal in five of them. On the road, they have been even better, scoring in all three league games so far.

We think that Gil Vicente will be able to impose their attacking style of play, and considering they have been clinical at home, we do not have any doubt in their ability to score. But they are not even remotely as good defensively, and since Casa Pia are scoring regularly, even vs better defensive teams than Gil Vicente, we expect a goal for the road side, too.
