Inter vs Udinese prediction 09.12.2023

Last year, Inter had a successful season only in Cup competitions after winning Coppa Italia and reaching the Finals in the Champions League, where they lost in a close match vs Manchester City. However, they were not as successful in the domestic league, finishing 3rd, 18 points behind the 1st-placed Napoli. This season, Inter are playing great in all competitions. They easily secured the Champions League knockout phase and are at the top of the Serie A with 35 points from 14 games. Even though Juventus are keeping up the pace with them, with only two points behind, Inter undoubtedly looks like the best team in Italy after more than the third of the season.

In the previous decade, Udinese have been mostly in the lower or middle part of the league's table. This year, Bianconeri had one of the worst starts in a while, as they found themselves once in 16th place with only 12 points - just two away from the danger zone. After the international break in October, the club tried to change its poor momentum by replacing the coach. Although the new coach, Gabriele Cioffi, insists that they are getting better, we cannot say we believe in his words. 

Inter vs Udinese pick: Inter to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread

This season, Inter are playing really well, as they lost only once in 19 games in all competitions. In Serie A, they won 11 of 14 games - 78.6%, with eight of those 11 wins coming by two or more goals difference. In the last game, Inter simply trashed last season's champs, Napoli, by 3:0 and coming to this game loaded with confidence. At home, Nerazzurri are on a three-game winning streak, and the game vs struggling Udinese is the perfect opportunity to extend it to four. 

Right now, with 33 goals in 14 games in Serie A (2.36 per game), Inter are by far the best offensive team in the Serie A. 

Udinese are underperforming this season, as they won just once in 14 Serie A games. The offense has been a major problem for them this season, considering they scored only 12 goals in 14 rounds. In the last game (3:3 vs Verona), they finally succeeded in scoring more than once - only for the second time this season. Still, that was at home, against one of the weakest teams in the league. All three goals were scored in a similar way, after nice crosses from the flanks. That is surely something Inzagi will have to stop, but considering he has a very tall defensive line, we do not think Udinese will have much success. On the other hand, Udinese's defense totally collapsed in the last two games, allowing six goals against Roma and Verona, and will have a difficult task of defending against the best offense in the league.

In the last five h2h games, Inter won four times, with three of those wins coming by two or more goals difference. Considering the previous h2h games and everything above, we believe Inter should secure a comfortable win at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
