Genoa will have the chance to go level on points with Monza in the Italian top flight with a win this weekend when the two sides meet in Via Franco Tognini.
The hosts played host to Juventus last week in Serie A and were looking to extend their unbeaten run of four games. As has been the case throughout the season until now, Raffaele Palladino's men put in a strong defensive performance and would have come away with a point had Federico Gatti not scored in stoppage time. Alberto Gilardino's side's problems on the road were highlighted once again as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat on the road. However, the Red and Blues can take heart ahead of this weekend's game from the fact that they did not lose either of their last two games with the hosts.

Monza head coach Raffaele Palladino will once again be without the services of Papu Gómez who is suspended until 2025 for doping.
The left winger is joined on the hosts’ list of absentees by Gianluca Caprari (cruciate ligament), Armando Izzo (foot) and Samuele Vignato (toothache).
