Two sides off the back of heartbreaking defeats in their respective leagues go head to head on Tuesday night as Manchester United as FC Bayern Munich in England.

Bayern Munich meanwhile needed to show a reaction after being knocked out of the German Cup by third division side Saarbrücken, and the Reds did just that with four straight wins. That run came to an end on matchday 5 of the Champions League with a goalless draw against Copenhagen. Even though qualification is already secured, Tuchel will expect a reaction from his side on Tuesday given the manner of the defeat and the scoreline against Eintracht Frankfurt in the league last weekend.

Manchester United didn’t register any injuries in the defeat to Bournemouth last time out but Erik ten Hag is expected to make at least two changes to the side that was on the pitch from kickoff in that game.
Anthony Martial is among those likely to be demoted to the bench as the French striker was taken off at the start of the second half in that game and replaced by Rasmus Højlund.
The latter boasts five goals in five Champions League games this season and should lead the line on Tuesday, while either Raphaël Varane or Jonny Evans could replace Luke Shaw in defence.
