While Liverpool have already secured their safe passage into the round of sixteen as group winners, USG come into Thursday's match with their European future still up-in-the-air. 

Three points behind second-placed Toulouse, the Belgians must win and hope that the French side fall to defeat in Austria against LASK if they are to sneak their way into February's Europa League playoffs. Conversely, a win for LASK and a loss against Liverpool would see the Belgians finish bottom of the group, and eliminated from all European competition. 

Fortunately for the Belgians, Liverpool are likely to rest several first-team players, so the chance of an upset victory is certainly higher than it might have been. 

Goals have to be expected in this fixture with both teams in great form ahead of Thursday's matchup. USG have won nine and lost just one of their last 12 matches while they have won each of their last six on home soil. All six games saw at least three goals scored while five of those also saw BTTS. The Belgians also saw both teams score in both previous home matches in this group section.

Likewise, Liverpool are usually a reliable selection for goal chasers. The Reds have seen over 3.5 goals in four of five EL fixtures this season including a 3:1 win at LASK and a 3:2 loss at Toulouse. 

Ultimately, it's hard to see past a high-scoring affair so I'm taking over 2.5 goals as a safe selection while I also expect BTTS and over 3.5 goals to land in Belgium.
