The FIFA Club World Cup continues on Friday with an intriguing quarter-final tie as Mexicans Leon take on Japanese opponents Urawa Red Diamonds at the Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium.

Leon come into Friday´s quarter-final match up in Jeddah as narrow favourites to move into the final stages of the FIFA Club World Cup. Nicolás Larcamón´s side secured their place in this competition with a 1:0 against Los Angeles in the final of the Concacaf Champions League earlier this year.

The Concacaf CL champions have been in poor form over the past couple of months though with just two wins and four defeats in their last nine matches across all competitions. The Mexican side are more consistent in the goal markets, with seven of those games seeing BTTS. 

Urawa Red DIamonds come into this match in similarly poor form with only two wins in their previous nine matches. The Asian Champions League winners lost six of those matches and will need big improvements if they are to reach the semi-final stage. Like Leon, Urawa are more consistent in the goal markets with six of their last seven also finishing with both teams scoring. 

Of course, these matches are always tough to call with teams from opposing corners of the globe coming together for the first time. However, the chances of both scoring look pretty decent considering recent results and both teams lack of clean sheets. Leon have not kept a clean sheet in nine matches while Urawa have managed just one from the same amount of matches over the past two months. 

While Leon are probably the justified favourites, I expect this tie could go the distance so I am instead backing both teams to score in Jeddah.
