Konyaspor vs Kayserispor prediction 24.12.2023

After having one of the best seasons in the club's history in 2021/22, when they finished 3rd in Super Lig and secured European Qualifiers, Konyaspor are on a significant decline in the following two seasons. Last year, they finished 8th, not even remotely close to Europe, but this season is a complete disaster. They are 17th with 15 points in 16 rounds but still just one point away from the safe zone. The club even tried with changing the coach after the first part of the season, but little to nothing has changed in Super Lig. Now, with only one win in the last 12 Super Lig games, Konyaspor have very little to be optimistic about. 

Kayserispor are in a totally different momentum, as they only improved over the last three years and, from a relegation candidate, became one of the teams that battle for European spots. Currently, they are 3rd with 29 points from 16 games but already 14 points away from the first two spots since Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are simply too good for the rest of the competition. Still, if Kayserispor somehow manages to continue with these good results and secure Europe, that would be an incredible accomplishment for the popular Anatolian Star. 

Konyaspor vs Kayserispor pick: Both teams to score

Despite having a poor season, Konyaspor are scoring more or less regularly, especially in recent games. They have scored at least once in seven of the last eight games in all competitions. They only failed to score vs Sivasspor but could easily score in that match, too, since they had 61% ball possession and 13 goal attempts. So, we believe they can score in the next game vs Kayserispor at Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium. On the other hand, we do not trust their defense at all to keep a clean sheet, as they kept their net intact in 19% of their Super Lig games. 

Kayserispor are in excellent form, with only one loss in the last ten games in all competitions. Their only loss was 4:3 vs highly favored Fenerbahce. Still, scoring three goals against such a good team gives us proof that they are the real deal and very much capable of scoring against anyone in the league. Also, during that ten-game stretch, Kayserispor scored 20 goals - two per game. 

In the previous three h2h games, we have seen both teams scoring every time, with four goals per game! Considering the previous h2h games and everything above, we expect both teams to score, presumably in a high-scoring game.
