Lens vs Reims prediction 16.12.2023

Lens had one of the best seasons in the club's history last year, as they finished 2nd, just one point behind the eventual champs, PSG. However, this season started terribly for the vice champions, winning just one point in the first five rounds. But after that surprising bad start, Lens was superb, losing just twice in the following 16 games - both in the Champions League. Now, they are looking a lot better and are 7th with 23 points, on level with points with Marseille and Reims. Also, with a win over last season's Europa League champs, Sevilla, in the last round of the Champions League Group, Lens secured the 3rd place in Group and secured the knockout phase of the Europa League. 

Last season, Reims were excellent and in a good position to secure Europe, but they blew the opportunity due to a terrible finish. This season, Reims once again started the competition well, but when a tougher schedule came, the Red-and-Whites collapsed and won just three points in the last four games. Now, they will have another challenging game against one of the hottest teams in France. 

Lens vs Reims pick: Lens to win

Lens lost four games in Ligue 1 this season, but all those losses came at the start. Since then, they have been much better and were undefeated in the following ten games in France, winning three of the last four Ligue 1 games. Also, the majority of Lens's poor performances in all competitions came away from home. At Stade Bollaert-Delelis, the French vice-champions are much better, and it seems they are only getting better as they won four in a row in all competitions with ten scored goals against solid competition. 

Reims are in really bad form, with three losses in the last four games. Yes, that was against good competition, but it is still a terrible stretch, and a game vs Lens at Stade Bollaert-Delelis is not an easy one by any means. 

In the previous h2h games in all competitions (friendlies included), Lens have dominated Reims as they won five of the last six games. 

Considering the previous h2h games and a massive difference in form, we believe Lens are much closer to winning the game at Stade Bollaert-Delelis and securing their fifth win in a row in front of their crowd.
